UPCOMING EVENTS
Roundup is not the only show coming up quickly. We hope to have a verbal report from somebody who attends this show at the July meeting. The following weekend, though, there are 3 more shows of some importance. Inland Empire Mustang Club holds its annual Hot Wheels in Millwood on the 24th in suburban Spokane. Several PNWMC members attended this show a few years ago and enjoyed it. On the 25th, the Kitsap Mustang Club holds its annual Mustang show at Oak Harbor. I believe I heard that this show is for Mustangs only. I know at least 1 couple from PNWMC has been to this show in the past and enjoyed it. Finally, the Cascade Cougar Club holds its annual Prowl on the 25th at the XXX Root Beer Restaurant in Issaquah. Prowl includes 1 or 2 classes for Mustangs, as well as classes for larger Mercurys, Edsels, and Lincolns.
The Mustang Stampede will be held in Vancouver, WA, on July 31st. Pierce County Mustang Club holds its annual Roundup at Puyallup’s South Hill Mall on August 8th. An interesting twist in Pierce County’s show is a $100 prize for the club that wins the Club Participation Award. Nice incentive – and Pierce County won the Club Participation Award at our Spring Show this year. The annual All-Ford and Mustang Roundup at Bowen-Scarff Ford in Kent will be held August 21st. The International Mustang Show will be in Alberta this Labour Day weekend and in Spokane next year.
I encouraged all of you back in February to try going to at least one out-of-town Mustang show for the first time sometime during the year. Mine will Mustangs Northwest’s Roundup on July 17th in Bellevue. If you haven’t gone to a new Mustang
club show already this year, I hope you’ll be able to attend one of the shows listed above or come up to Yakima on September 19th for Ponies and Cougars in the Sun. The shows are fun. The people are fun. The drives are usually fun. You’ll get to see cars that don’t make it over to our shows. Best of all, more of the other clubs’ members will get to see more of our beauties.
If you make it to any out-of-town show, we’d also appreciate a short story and a few photos for the newsletter. The prose doesn’t have to elegant. The photos can be average. We’d just like to know what the shows are like. Send everything to our newsletter editor, Kim Ziemer, at ziemerkm@aol.com. Thanks.
