In 2019, two community focus groups meetings with faith and civic leaders were held to discuss spiritual needs of men in this region. It became apparent men have three (3) essential needs. First, men need authentic relationships where support and encouragement for spiritual growth occur (small groups). Second, men need to be equipped for ministry to other men (mentor training) or to seek out mentorship opportunities. Third, men need to gather with other men periodically to be challenged, to worship together, and to network for the purpose of spiritual growth. From these 2019 focus groups came the idea of the Pacific Northwest Men's Conference. In order to meet the three needs listed above, the Ministry to Men Network has been working to integrate small groups (covenant groups) and mentorship opportunities (Valor Mentor training) as year-long growth opportunities for conference participants. Our goal is to make our one-day conference event have a lasting impact on the men who attend. To make it all happen Bill Pugh of Brennan Martin Pugh and Associates, Pastor John Werst, Director of the Ministry to Men Network , Pastor Tim Davis, CEO of Valor Mentoring, and John Lilly formerly the Director of the Mid Valley Men's Conference came together to plan this catalytic event.
